Prepping and Cleaning Your Office for a New Year's Party

Thinking about throwing a new year's party in your office for your employees? Then, you should make a cleaning plan before the party starts. Here are a few tips to help you ensure you can easily clean your office after a New Year's party:

1. Minimise the mess.

Rather than focusing exclusively on cleaning efforts, try to cut down on the mess you make. To do so, use paper plates, disposable cutlery and even plastic champagne glasses. To accommodate all this waste, buy a few extra large plastic rubbish bins and scatter them strategically around your office.

2. Cover office equipment.

To protect office equipment such as fax machines and computers from spills or other types of damage, cover these items during your office party. If you have covers designed specifically for your monitors and CPUS, use them, but if you don't have any covers on hand, you can simply use painting drop cloths or even sheets or vinyl tablecloths.

3. Have dish soap on hand for champagne stains.

Your new year's party is likely the only time of the year when your employees will be drinking champagne in the office. Lest any of it spills, make sure you have some dish soap on hand. With a bit of warm water and a few drops of dish soap, you can easily clean most champagne stains.

4. Learn how to address vomit stains.

Unfortunately, if your party gets too "fun", you may have the occasional reveler vomit their festive feelings onto your office carpet. Although you certainly hope to avoid this scenario, it's important to be prepared in case it does happen.

Review a few vomit cleaning strategies before the big event. For example, the most effective way to clean these messes is to pick up the large chunks with a paper towel, spray water or club soda on the remaining mess, and blot it with a clean towel. Additionally, make your own cleaner with water, table salt, vinegar, laundry detergent and rubbing alcohol. Apply this to the stain and blot clean. Finally, repeat everything with water to rinse away the mess.

5. Hire professional cleaners

As you are already saving money holding your party in the office rather than booking a venue, you should consider spending the excess money on professional cleaners. Professional office cleaners, like Launceston Cleaning Services, can come to your office daily or weekly, but you can also book them just for special occasions such as a post party clean up.

About Me

Cleaning up after tenants

I have a few rental properties and you wouldn't believe the mess that some tenants leave when they vacate the premises. They think that the bond will cover the cleaning but sometimes I'm also embarassed when I have to show the cleaning services what they will need to clean up. At least it's not my fault that the place is so messy. The cleaning services are always professional and when the place is really bad I can take the tenants back to the small claims court and claim back the cost of the excess cleaning bill. This blog is about cleaning up after grotty tenants.
